There are no blanket right answers when it comes to continued communication
after the close of a surrogacy journey; it is all about what is right
for the individual journeys. Many surrogates and intended parents have an open door policy for an ongoing, lifelong friendship. Others agree that there will be little to no contact after delivery. No matter how much or how little, the level of communication that is
expected after a journey should be openly discussed before a journey ever takes place, and both parties should agree to match only with someone who is on the same page. Unfortunately, some surrogates who are promised ongoing contact to any degree never again see the children they helped bring into the world. They don't expect to be completely and wholly intertwined in their lives, but seeing as how it is a family that we aim to help create, it would be nice if surrogates aren't ever left to wonder how those families are doing. Thankfully, I don't have to:
